Un bel bestione di 16 mm. Gianluca Agnoli me lo aveva identificato sul campo, ma .... me so' dimenticato  ... forse ... Chrysura pyrogaster (Brullé, 1832)?

possibly a much more common species ... another picture, please, thorax in lateral view, to see above all the shape of metanotum |

it's a Chrysura, almost certainly Chrysura pyrogaster (Brullé, 1832)
for confirmation, please could you make a picture of abdomen from underside?
p.s. note that especially for determination of Chrysura spp., sight of abdomen sternites is almost always necessary  |

Esatto
è la specie più grande del genere Chrysura in Italia.
In Grecia e nell'Europa sud-orientale esiste una specie simile (C. pyrogaster (Brullé)) che supera 1,5 cm !
