Biblio. Van Rossem 1980/1991 : The Author studied all the Microleptinae, all his publications (PDF) are on the Net. Excepted: 1983 - "A revision of Western Palearctic Oxytorine genera. Part III: Genus Proclitus (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae)" Townes 1969/1971 : The Genera of Ichneumonidae - Part 1 (p.58) , Part 3 (p.3/53: Banchinae) , Part 4 (p.179/206: Microleptinae) --- The couplet n° 35 of Townes's key does not separate a satisfactory manner : Banchinae ♂ & Microleptinae ♂ (The 2 options of couplet are not separated logically) This is why I tried to find the criteria allowing to differentiate the ♂ belonging to these 2 subFamilies. --- All the subFamilies and genera are sensu Townes. Thanks to Eopteryx ( Filippo Di Giovanni) who have me indicated my imprecision. --- Terminology see viewtopic.php?f=104&t=47025Structure of Ichneumonidae see the previous link & viewtopic.php?f=11&t=39972--- Drawings from Townes----------------------------------------- keywords : Hymenoptera Ichneumonoidea Ichneumonidae Banchinae Microleptinae Orthocentrinae Cylloceriinae Oxytorinae Catastenus femoralis Symplecis Dialipsis exilis Eusterinx Stilbops Blapticus Gnathochorisis Laepserus Entypoma Exetastes Oxytorus Lissonota Arenetra pilosella Plectiscidea Aperileptus

Pay attention. What you call Microleptinae is now Orthocentrinae (in part, excluding Orthocentrus genus-group) + Oxytorinae (Oxytorus). Currently Microleptinae is restricted only to Microleptes. (I know it's really a mess ) Filippo

Effectively, I wanted to clarify that sub-families and genera were sensu Townes but I forgot ... ! I am going to add as soon as possible the precision. Ciao. D & JP Balmer

more or less: Microleptinae sensu Townes = Oxytorinae sensu van Rossem = now Microleptinae (Microleptes) + Oxytorinae (Oxytorus) + Cylloceriinae (Cylloceria, Allomacrus and recently Hyperacmus) + Tatogastrinae (Tatogaster) + Orthocentrinae excluding Orthocentrus genus group (= Helictini sensu Humala) Spero di non aver dimenticato nulla

D & JP balmer Yep, Tatogaster nigra is only in South America. On Hyperacmus: Hyperacmus was transferred to the Cylloceriinae in Quicke et al. 2009 "A thousand and one wasps: a 28S rDNA and morphological phylogeny of the Ichneumonidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera) with an investigation into alignment parameter space and elision". In addition: - Brachyscleromatinae were resurrected to include Brachyschleroma and the Erythrodolius group of Phrudinae. - the Neorhacodinae and the Phrudus group of Phrudinae were transferred to the Tersilochinae. Filippo

Saluti, Thank you for this very interesting information. If I find the text, I am going to use it to deepen my weak knowledge on the concerned groups. Ciao. D & JP Balmer
