Buongiorno a tutti,

posto questa foto di un Carabus (Chaetocarabus) intricatus di 28 mm. raccolto con trappola a caduta in faggeta a 1410 mt. in Macedonia (Repubblica di MC), nella zona di Tetovo; secondo voi si tratta della specie nominale o è qualcos'altro?

Dovrebbe essere Carabus (Megodontus) croaticus ljubetensis Apfelbeck, 1919.
A prima vista, dalla foto, mi sembrava più un Carabus (Megodontus) caelatus, ma 28 mm sono troppo pochi per un caelatus, quindi concordo (anche per altri caratteri minori) sulla diagnosi della specie. Penso però che il C. croaticus meriterebbe una approfondita revisione delle sue razze.

Il dubbio inizialmente c'era, ma avevo escluso la specie, che invece pare ben presente a Nord...grazie a tutti per il chiarimento e buona giornata.
