Did you breed only the larva you show here? In my experience, all the larvae which have been bred inside, with light and/or temperature and/or humidity of our rooms, at their last instar belong to the dark (almost black) form, I'd like to know whether you share the same feeling...

Yes, Paolo! Also from my observations it appears that adult larvae of Hyles gallii and Deilephila elpenor are always the dark form.
