Genus Tachyancistrocerus is mostly Oriental in distribution, with a single species that occurs in Europe. So far it was known from Greece, but last summer I collected two females in Split, marking possibly the new northern border of its areal. These are rather small species, with very strong bodily punctation and a characteristic shape on dorsal surface of T1. The first third of T1 ends with a transversal carina, followed by a weakly and finely punctated area, while the distal half of T1 is very strongly punctated. There are no lamellae on T1 or T2. Alongside female, I am also showing three photos of a male, collected in Greece.
