Hi all ,

My dad was in the last moths in Iraq for work, and him bring me some insects from there (only few ). This is a nice carabidae , I think maybe Calosoma sp.
lenght of the specimen ~ 24 mm

I am sorry to intervene so late in the discussion. The insect represented is the Calosoma (Campalita) maderae (I do not think that it is necessary to distinguish auropunctatum and maderae). In any way, it is easily recognizable because it has bowed tibiae (typical of the subgenus Campalita) and only three intervals between the two primary ones. The Calosoma (Caminara) olivieri has five intervals between the two primary ones. Most probably this specimens pertains to a population included in the subspecies dzungaricum.
