Hello my dear insect friends,
Can anyone determine this Carabus species from an excursion to Romania?
Length is 27 mm.
I think there is something broken off from the tip of aedeagus.

I'm aware of this. Romania is a very difficult region for this subgenus.
comptus
hampei
kollari
rothi
scheidleri
all occuring around that area.

It is a hampei or very closed to. C. kollari is present in the Cerna-Domogled Mountains region (South-western Romania) only and is differently sculpted.
