quello della foto sopra è chiaramente un maschio di Carterus dama, quello dell'altra foto (per quello che posso capire dalla foto) è invece un rotundicollis. Le differenze stanno nello scapo che nel dama è nettamente più lungo dei due seguenti presi assieme, nel rotundicollis invece no. Inoltre il pronoto è chiaramente differente nelle due specie. Te li mostro affiancati per confronto. :birra:

Scusa l'ignoranza: tutti i maschi nel genere Cartherus hanno le mandibole cosi' sviluppate?

in questo modo le ha solo il maschio di Carterus dama, espansioni sulle mandibole sono presenti anche nei maschi del sottogenere Sabienus (C. calydonius e C. tricuspidatus), ma con anche un corno cefalico. A proposito, naturalmente la foto del C. rotundicollis è quella del tuo post del 13/12/13
