Victor, cruxminor should have the first 3 antennal segments reddish and half femura/half tibia reddish too. Is that right ?

Perhaps it is a color variation? :? Anything else doesn't come to mind.

hi zdeno

Lebia nigripes Dejean, 1825

formerly treated as ssp. of cruxminor, yet now recognized as distinct species (the two are largely allopatric, yet locally may also occur together)

Hello Maurizio

Nigripes was my closest much, but nigripes should have only 2 antennal segments red and is not listed for Greece. Maybe the reason is, that it was under cruxminor ?

Thank you !

Ciao

Just now have checked the specimens of my collection: between the Lebia cruxminor from Greece, there is a typical specimen of L. nigripes !!! (NW Greece, near the border with Albania).
Unfortunately from the Peloponnese, there are no specimens in my hands, from these 2 species...

Goodnight from Athens, :hi: :hi:

L. nigripes was only recently recognized as distinct species, therefore several "cruxminor" records from southern europe clearly are in need of confirmation

as for this specimen, with nigripes habitus, yet with 3 (not 2) basal antennomeres reddish, this may represent a local color variation, or conversely belong to a further, undescribed taxon within the cruxminor complex

further studies, possibly together with additional material from peloponnese, will be required

But here this species as a synonym...
