One effective character:
jowls (area behind the eye) smooth= P. cylindricus (normally smaller than 22 mm);
jowls with vertical furrows = P. strictus s.l. (normally larger than 25 mm).
Be careful that the two species, where the P. cylindricus is settled, can be found together. In that case, P. strictus is normally with large size and oval elytrae (the so called ssp. ellipticus, provided it is worth something).

a remark... Percus cylindricus has usually smooth, nearly parallel-sided elytra; in your picture with paired specimens, the link one seems a very small specimen of P. strictus ellipticus

Ciao.
Sono state evidentemente inserite due specie differenti.

- Seulo env., Barbagia Seulo (2 ex.) = Percus cylindricus Chaudior, 1868

- Borore, 6.IV.210 (1 ex) = Percus strictus oberleitneri Kraatz, 1858

A parte dimensioni, forma e scultura, il carattere della zona postoculare (rigonfia e solcata in strictus, liscia in cylindricus) mi sembra abbastanza evidente.
Davide Cillo ha raccolto le stesse specie insieme a Honza nelle stesse località e anche lui mi conferma le determinazioni.
