Hello Cosmin. What do you mean with different comportament? The first time I found this specie I was in Greece in a field of Medicago sativa L. We (my friend Cesare Iacovone and me) stopped the car to perform a physiological need. Near the road there were a lot of specimens (probably hundreds), but none of them tried to fly. They only run on the ground. Returned home, I found that they were quite short-winged. Another time I was in Northern Italy, Lodi (near Milan), on the banks of the river Adda, and I found a couple of specimens. But they were able to fly! Is this species like some Carabus (C. granulatus interstitialis), with populations with wings of different lenght? |

Also apulian populations of Cylindera germanica muelleri are perfectly able to fly, and they do if you approach them at less than two meters!!! |
