This collection includes one specimen of a new Neoplocaederus collected in Bludan.

Ciao Gianfranco, What's happened in Prague? Did you find the Neoplocaederus in Kadlec's collection? It is a male or a female? I hope you were successful this weekend and you will utilize the experiences. There is an other question on Mallosia (Semnosia) baiocchii. Perhaps you know the synonyme species Mallosia delagrangei described by Pic in 1905. According to the work of WINKLER A., 1929. Cerambycidae in Catalogus Coleopterorum regionis palaearcticae this species was described from Syria. Did you see the description of Pic? It would be useful to know what is that species and its exact locality. It is possible that Mallosia baiocchii and M. delagrangei could be the same? Nikola

Hi Nikola, Prague was a nice experience as usual. I have studied a small part of Kadlec's Cerambycid collection. Phytoeciini, Apatophysis, Clytus, Agapanthia and also Neoplocaederus. Unfortunately I did not succed to find any specimen of Neoplocaederus from Bludan, but I had one by Kabatek and Celikovsky, some from your friends Attila and Markus. Regarding Semnosia delagrangei, yes, I have the original description and I have examined its type material: it was described from the Amanus Mts. (in that time this region, currently belonging of Turkey, was a part of the so-called "Great Syria", which also included Lebanon). S. delagrangei is a synonym of S. mirabilis Faldermann. Here the original description, in a key, compared to S. ganglbaueri, multimaculata and bitlisiensis, further synonyms of S. mirabilis. Long. 32 mm.
According to Pic, 1911 “Peut se distinguer, à première vue, de S.mirabilis Fald. et autres races, par les élytres dépurvus de macules blanches sur les côtés ».

Thank you Gianfranco for the exhaustive answer, that is enough for me. I did not know M. delagrangei was described from the Amanus (today Nur daglari) mts. I only heard it was described from Syria and it is a synonym of M. mirabilis. That's why I wanted to know more of the description.
Regards, Nikola
