:hi:

from the trip done this year in Greece returned with some dorcadions, as I prepare them will present them also here.
sadly from this one I have not extracted genitalia, but I have a large number from a very close locality and will extract from there and will come back on this.

for now I have IDed this as Pedestredorcadion pedestre (Poda, 1761) but from what I have read on the forum is likely to be another species (regularae...)... will like to hear what you think.

this one was collected in north east of Greece, Thracia (41.304526/26.094544) in 18.may.2010, size of this specimen is 13-14 mm.

Pedestredorcadion regulare and pedestre differ mostly by the shape of parameres, so identifications based on phenotipes are surely not trustable.

If you wish to dissect it, DON'T WET the specimen in water, otherwise white design will disappear, due the small white scales will glue each other. If necessary, detach the abdomen, work on it, and put it back under elytras again.

Ciao Cosmin!

I think that this specimen belong to taxon "sapkaianum Krätschmer, 1987"
treated in rank subspecies of D. regulare or valid species.

Now I found that yours Dorcadion from this locality was determined by You and confirmed by Zdeno in 12.2010 here:
viewtopic.php?f=145&t=15011

so discussion about ID can be finished :ok:
