Deroplia troberti (Mulsant, 1843) ssp. cruciata Sama, 1996
GR - crete, Chania nomos, Milli env. ,ex larva 23.V.2008 - dead twigs of Nerium oleander, previously killed by larvae of Xylotrechus stebbingi Gahan, 1906.

Si tratta di Deroplia troberti troberti (Mulsant, 1843) o di Deroplia troberti (Mulsant, 1843) ssp. cruciata Sama, 1996 da quello che capisco l’ areale di distribuzione della ssp. cruciata è solamente la Grecia… quindi devo dedurre che il soggetto in questione è la specie nominale… mentre il gentile Jan ci mostra la ssp. cruciata per confronto, confronto che purtroppo io non sono in grado di apprezzare… ma questi sono problemi miei...

I apologize to put this topic (Deroplia troberti cruciata) here.. I just wanted to show the other ssp. of this sp. Asi you write, ruzzpa, Deroplia troberti cruciata occurs only in Greece - concretely on Crete (wow, melodious junction of words ).
Macroscopic features of this ssp. are described in work of "Isotomus" (in french..)

Interestingly, X. stebbingi obviously attacked living shrubs of Nerium, especialy basal parts of shoots were gregariously attacked (of diameter 5-10 cm), what caused slow dying of the upper part of the plant. Dead twigs of such plant seem to be excelent substrate for development of Deroplia troberti (Mulsant, 1843) ssp. cruciata and Parmena slamai..
