:hi:

I hope you will not mind that I will write this in english, is much much easier for me. the answers in italian are very welcome :).
Is still not exactly clear for me how to split regulare and pedestre... from lists pedestre is not present in Greece, and regulare is not present in Romania.... so is easier :) but one next to each other, without a label is not so easy. from what I see:

on P.regulare - the puncture are stronger and deeper and the lines appear to be better marked, disk of pronotum very punctured, from this reason the species looks somehow stouter
on P.pedestre - the puncture are more rare and not so strong and the lines specially the inside one are in general more or less unmarked, also disk of pronotum almost without puncture, species look somehow smaller

a set of photos to be able to compare both species

Thank you Marcin; very similar indeed. Two different species ? Mmmm.
Moreover, both species are very variable and often not distinguishable.

Marcin?

no problem Gianfranco. ;)
another character that I have observed to be very well define on P.pedestre is the humeral carene.
next year will try to collect more pedestre from several parts of Romania to have more specimens to compare, for now I have only 6 pedeste and around 20 regulare.

other character that I have seen is that elitrae are shorter on regulare, probably this is a reason that looks bigger. another reason for that is that on pedestre the tarsomere are bigger so again the body looks smaller.

so is very likely that will come back on this.

Cosmin, pedestre is presented in Greece. N - around Xanthi and Drama
And characters ? You have said that right + photo of aedeagus....that` s the main characters. They are very very close relatives, that`s why its not very easy to distinguish them.

By the way, that regulare is ssp. sapkaianum
