hope you don't mind that I will post all this photo in one post, just to show some variation (males & females). I don't think to be any problems with identification >>> Anastrangalia dubia (Scopoli, 1763) all collected in 24.may.2010 in Peloponnese (37.854341/22.459604). will be good to know if the last female is still from this species (being somehow shorter/fatter). now just observed that the tip of elitrae is more or less tridentate. any comments and critics are welcome, cosmln

Yes Cosmin, all are Anastrangalia dubia dubia (Scopoli, 1763), 3 males and 4 females. May I have a more precise locality an collecting date ? The last Catalogue did accept a Caucasian subspecies: ssp. melanota (Faldermann, 1837) previously known ìunder the name distincta (Tournier, 1872).

In fact, I do not recognize even melanota (or distincta), but that area (Caucasus) was under Danilevsky's respnsibility and he has a different opinion about the difference between subspecies and variability; see the dozens of subspecies described for several species of Dorcadionini and Cortodera, or Mallosia puncticollis stygia (the black form, widespread everywhere together with the "forma typica) and regarded as a subspecies in Iran (where I collected tne two "subspecies" together) and in Turkmenistan.

Evidently, Musaria, not Mallosia puncticollis stygia

About the locality/toponyms... sorry just my habit to prefer geographical coordinates, this cam be seen the between brackets. To answer to your question, collecting place is situated just in south of Lake Stimfalia. Cosmin

We have already reared dozens of specimens of Anastrangalia dubia (Turkey, Abant Bolu 2011, ex Abies) Their paramrers (lateral lobes) apparently difers from central european, later are stauter and shorter.
