Hallo everybody. I have collected these two specimen of Rhamnusium sp. in Greece, Peloponnes peninsula. The second one, with black body and yellow elytrae, is most probably Rhamnusium graecum ssp. graecum Schaufuss, 1862. But the first one (from different locality, but also on Peloponnes peninsula) has coloration typical for Rhamnusium bicolor (Schrank, 1782).
Can anyone tell me, please, if the first one is also Rhamnusium graecum ssp. graecum Schaufuss, 1862 ?? What are the typical differences between these two species (if there are any but the color of the body)?
Grazie
Jan

P.S. was found in hollow Acer tree, Peloponnnese centr., Menalo Mts., Vitina, 25 km NW Tripoli, 21. V. 2007. Abdomen of this specimen is red

femurs completely or partially blacks in graecum.
But i know lot of autors don't regard graecum like a different species...

They are both graecum graecum. The second is really strange in colour. Anyway to distinguish bicolor from graecum you must check the abdomen. Normally in graecum is complety black. The status of the different species of Rhamnusium must be studied on the base of lot of material from different places.
Is it possible to have more details on the collecting data?
