And now my short illustrated story of my meeting with the Saperda similis (LAICHARTING, 1784). Polska, Mielnik along the Bug River, 20 IV 2011, imagines (4 exx.): 10-18 V 2011, Leg., ex cult. (from Salix caprea), det. A. Woźniak. In eastern Poland, in appropriate environments, this species is not so rarely encountered, as once thought. Allegati: S. similis - habitat, Mielnik S. similis - old outlet opening of imago S. similis - active feeding larval S. similis - cross-section of the settlement willow trunk S. similis - feeding larvae inside the wood S. similis - young imago Saperda similis

I would be very happy to find the beautiful avenues of salix caprea here where I live; Salix caprea unfortunately is not a very common plant and therefore also S. similis is not at all common.Fortunately, here where I live there are still a lot of other beautiful little beasts

Unfortunately, it looks like the Saperda simils is monofag Salix caprea. Without this species of willow meeting with him is probably impossible.

Very interesting description! Marco, questa la trovi nelle terre di oltre appeninno e oltre po', la dove ancora il tedesco sopravvive , che io sappia nelle altre parti d'Italia dove c'è è meno frequente ancora.
