And now the relationship with my meeting with a very interesting species: Ropalopus ungaricus (HERBST, 1784) :hp:

It is a rare European beetle ecologically associated with maples (Acer spp.) - especially with Acer pseudoplatanus. I had the pleasure to meet him thanks to my friend Darek Hofmański, who for several years monitors its positions in the mountains Kłodzko Valley.

It's a very interesting and Beauty full beetle, i m use to collect it every year by using traps with red wine but it's very hard also in this way...this year 4 exx. In 50 bottles inspected 2 times!!!
I have never collected infested wood: you were succesfull i saw...you obtained adults by cutting infested branches or you found adults in activity?

Hi Marci!
26 July was already near the end of swarming R. ungaricus. All 8 specimens that we met were running the wood. In the wood were larvae, which imagines rise in 2015.

Wow! 8 specimens running the wood... can you explain better to me please? Were they running on on branches or trunks? And they were on trees damaged or on trees perfectly wealth? It was sunny day, what time ?
Sorry for many questions, but i wish to find some adults in activity where i collect them by traps, but i have never seen them, so probably i'm not searching them in the right way!!!

Specimens running around trees that showed the photographs. They were on the trunks, but certainly also were different in the treetops. Time 15:00 - 17:00, very nice, warm weather.
