Hi, my name is Lech (Poland) and this is my first post at this Forum. I'm asking for confirmation about this specimen. Is it Oxylia duponcheli, or rather Oxylia argentata languida? Body length is 18 mm (max. for O. argentata is 14 mm, according to: http://www.cerambyx.uochb.cz/) For now, I am not allowed to write the localisation (I'm sorry if it is necessery) but it wasn't caught in: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece or Macedonia. |

Hi Lech, Welcome here ! According to the rules you should introduce yourself in the proper forum, than you can post Id requests: viewforum.php?f=4 Anyway, to me it looks more like a O. argentata languida ( I've got a specimen from Syria very similiar to this one but I've got no specimen of O. duponcheli to compare to). Hi Pierpaolo, your confirmation is good enough for me  Thank you!I was also thinking about this species, but the body length was unclear. The specimen was collected on Cyprus, and in case of Oxylia duponcheli, it would be a new country for this species, so I didn't want to give the location on the beginning. Hence, such an early date of catch. For both species May is given as the beginning of adults occuring. Best regards, Lech |
