Good morning everyone! :birra:

And now a few words about interesting species of the family longhorn beetles: Nivellia saguinosa (GYLLENHAL, 1827) :hp:

This beautiful, rarely found beetle I encountered in the boreal-mountain habitats. Imagines occur in a short period of time, and swarm in June and July.. They appear in moist deciduous and mixed forests on different flowers, primarily Aruncus dioicus and Filipendula ulmaria, as flowers of the family Umbelliferae.

On Polish territory the secies I met several times:

Nivellia sanguinosa:
- Puszcza Białowieska, Uroczysko Legenda, 04 - 07 VI 2002, 7 exx., leg., det. A. Woźniak & E. Wanat,
- Puszcza Białowieska, Uroczysko Legenda, 11 VI 2004, about 100 ex.!, leg., det. A. Woźniak & M. Wełnicki,
- Puszcza Białowieska, Zielona Droga, 15 VI 2005, 4 exx., leg., det. A. Woźniak,
- Bieszczady: Roztoki Górne, Bystre, 27 VI - 02 VII 2008, 12 exx., leg., det. A. Woźniak & P. Zięba.

This is not ruled out.
Nivellia sanguinosa occurs in similar habitats as Cyrtoclytus capra.
Maybe she living somewhere in the mountains of northern Italy? :)

Right over there! :ok:

I have seen in various collections poorly determinated specimens of this species. Nivellia is externally similar to red form female Anastrangalia dubia, and lives in the same habitat! You need to carefully watch collections Cerambycidae from the Italian Alps. Perhaps among them is Nivellia? :bln:
