Hi , this small Cryptocephalus was collected in Romania on the Black Sea shore, in sand dunes habitat, in october 2022. It is small, the lenght is less than 3 mm. An identification is much appreciated!

Andrea is right, this is Cryptocephalus macellus.

Thanks you guys , after the Catalogue of Palearctic Coleoptera it is new for Romania, although it is not a surprise since it is present in the neighbouring coutries

I could not find any info regarding its host plant or the habitat od this species, maybe can you help with this info?

Hi, the host plants cited by M. Burlini in his revision of the genus (1956) are: Prunus spinosa, Quercus and Rumex.
