Very difficult group to identification. Looks as members of P. gibbosus species group. In Italy P. gibbosus, P. kiesenwetteri and P. ruffoi. |

Thak's Lech. I would exclude P. gibbosa because of the shape of the edago, which is the same as kiesenwetteri. I have no comparison with P. ruffoi. Could you give me some indication? |

Pronotum stronger shining, its reticulation less dense. The pronotum is very bright but I have no comparison specimens for the density of the reticulum. I would leave P. ruffoi cf. for the time being. Within a month I should get some new photographic equipment and try to send something better. |

Ciao a tutti, ho appena trovato un recente articolo che tratta questo gruppo di specie, dal punto di vista genetico: Cryptic, sibling or neither of the two? Integrative species delimitation of Psylliodes flea beetles with overlapping ranges - Emanuele Berrilli, Maurizio Biondi, Paola D'Alessandro, Daniele Salvi - 2023, concentrandosi propio su P. kiesenwetteri e P. ruffoi. Quest'ultima sembra essere ristretta esclusivamente alla Calabria e a parte della Sicilia; P. kiesenwetteri invece è presente su tutto il territorio italiano. Sembrano inoltre esserci differenze ben definite nei genitali, sia maschili che femminili: l'edeago in kiesenwetteri è piuttosto allargato alla base, come in questo esemplare; ruffoi invece lo ha quasi parallelo. Quindi direi che questa è una Psylliodes kiesenwetteri. For Lech: the map shows the distribution of the P. gibbosus species group. As you may see P. ruffoi in restricted to the most southern part of Italy, but this specimen was found about in central Italy, so it should be Psylliodes kiesenwetteri.
