Another form of Aspidimorpha isparetta. One of the most variable species in Central Africa. |

The genus Aspidimorpha is very difficult to identification, also for experts. I still have several specimens from Africa of uncertain position despite the fact that we have the largest collection of Aspidimorpha in the world and we revised all 199 world species. On the other hand Aspidimorpha isparetta is quite characteristic due to elevated but not tuberculate postscutear area while other species from Congo basin are usually more or less tuberculate or depressed. Other the most similar species to A. isparetta are distributed outside Congo basin. |
