Hello , is this specimen Chrysolina sanguinolenta? It was found near Black Sea coast. |

Chrysolina rossia does not occur in Romania and have different shape of pronotum with sides strongly converging anterad. In my opinion this is Chrysolina gypsophilae. |

Alexandru, the only problem is that on your photos base of pronotum is poorly visible. If lateral impressions on base of pronotum are deep, externally with more or less sharp margin (like in Ch. sanguinolenta) then without doubts this is Ch. gypsophilae. The only similar species is Ch. kuesteri which has these impressions in form of several coarse punctures but without sharp external margin. |
