It seems to be Lilioceris lilii (Scopoli, 1763) - Chrysomelidae

Thank you Giovanni,
It appears to be among the 3 species in the Turkey Checklist. :ok: :hp:
L. merdigera / L. lilii / L. faldermanni

That day, I went out to look for Fritillaria in the valley and couldn't find it. Looks like I found the one that ate Fritillaria leaves instead. 8-)

It is not L. lilii, that has full black legs, but L. merdigera.

This is Lilioceris faldermanni due to the completely red apex of femora and whole tibiae. Lilioceris merdigera has blackish knee. Lilioceris faldermenni has head entirely red while in L. merdigera usually labrum and often clypeus are more or less obscure to blackish.

Compare L. merdigera: http://www.cassidae.uni.wroc.pl/Colpolo ... digera.htm

and L. faldermanni: http://www.cassidae.uni.wroc.pl/Europea ... rmanni.htm (this is photo of yellow specimen but usually this sp[ecies is as red colored as L. merdigera).

Hello Lech,
Thank you very much for your detailed correction with photos. Even I, who is not an expert, got it. :hp: If I encounter this species again and forget this detail, I will return and look here.

Thanks to you too Davide. :ok:
