I see from the italian checklist that C. algirica isn't present in Lombardy, where he has collected the specimen. Are there other possibilities or he has found a new species? |

The problem is that you noted body length circa 6 mm. Other species of the Cassida rubiginosa species group usually have length more than 6.5 mm. The locality is not alpine so maybe it is only small specimen of common Cassida rubiginosa. Are femora partly black and frons narrow? If not then Cassida leucanthemi or Cassida sanguinosa are also possible. |
