According to the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera Volume 3 in Romania only two species

basalis Mulsant & Rey, 1870
laevipennis A. Costa, 1844

It seems to not be anyone of them. Please correct the title: replace Psammobius with Psammodius I appologise for the wrong spelling. Thank you in advance.

Psammodius basalis (the stries and interstries look different) viewtopic.php?f=163&t=36347&hilit=Psammodius+basalis

Psammodius laevipennis (the body shape looks different) viewtopic.php?f=163&t=29232&hilit=Psammodius+laevipennis

Both of them have simple hairs at the lateral margins of the pronotum, mine has the hairs claviform.

E' un po' "strano", ma ha le setole ai lati del pronoto corte e ...troncate.
Non vedo setole sulla guancia .....mi viene in mente solo il Psammodius asper.

Ignoro pero' se vi sono altre specie oltre a quelle presenti anche in Italia. :oops:

P. nocturnus, basalis e laevipennis mi sembra di ricordare che hanno delle setole sottili.....ma e' un po' che non "mastico" scarabeidi.

Thank you all for the replies. I have found only one specimen, even I kept looking.

But looking here: viewtopic.php?f=163&t=4885&hilit=Psammodius
and here: viewtopic.php?f=163&t=4884&hilit=Psammodius+asper I think my specimen is asper. I had not seeing any bristle on the cheeks.
