è possibile avere un nome completo?

Hi Cosmin. Yd I checked my collection, and yr pics fit well with my specimens. My ID following Baraud's key, who doesn't depict male genitalia. Anyway, I knoww this species from three localities in western coast of Attiki and from northern Peloponnese. Diurnal, flying around in garigue or low shrubs formations. Cheers, Clickie |

hi the valid name of this taxon is vernale Brullé - caucasicum refers to a Holochelus (Miltotrogus). ciao Denis |

so this: is not a valid one? in this case what is the valid name... at least after FaEU there is no Amphimallon caucasicum (Gyllenhal,1817) or Amphimallon vernalis/vernale (Brulle,1832) ... or just caucasicum (Gyllenhal,1817) or vernalis/vernale (Brulle,1832) ... is like this name of species don't exist... just one of the many mistake? |

Olivier Montreuil checked the HT of caucasicum for his PhD, I saw it also! caucasicum belongs to Holochelus. Therefore the first valid and available name is vernale Brullé. this was published was after 1992, date of publication of Baraud's work. anyway, i corrected the part Rhizotrogini for the catalogus coleopterorum but this correction was not retained, Ales didn't tell why.. |
