It is very similar to Apentanodes globosus (Reiche & Saulcy 1857), but .... A. Apentanodes has never been found in mainland Greece nor in Peloponnese. Only in Crete and the in the southern of the islands of Aegean Sea. B. Apentanodes lives on sandy beaches, while Poliani in Messinia is a plateau, at an altitude of 670 meters.
