Another coleoptera from Iraq - I guess it is Meloe (Lampromeloe) cavensis
lenght of the specimen ~ 18 mm (without antenna)

Io ho trovato qualche tempo fa 2 esemplari di Meloe cavensis nel territorio di Mazara del Vallo( TP). |

Yes it is: Meloe (Lampromeloe) cavensis. The recent record from W Sicily is very interesting because the species is greatly reduced in Italy. The most recent records I know are those from Sardegna, Basilicata and Calabria. Thanks, Marco Bologna |
