Hi there, yr pics leave me a "big" bit uncertain.

Yes, I seem that yr specimens belong in the "varipes" group, but that's all.

Photos are too out of focus.

Then, send us sharper pics, otherwise can't say anything.

With those very big fire fémurs, in my opinion it can be C. varipes planiceps, that should not have yellow/orange femurs, whereas in C. varipes varipes the base of femurs is orange. However, I didn't see very large males of C. chalcochroa, and in Chrysanthia the thickness is allometric, so in big males is disproportionately big compared to small ones. So I am not very confident to give an identification with a photo. Chrysanthia should be seen under a binocular...
