Cyphosoma lawsoniae
Sud Sardegna

Hi Vittorio,

as I wrote in my Contribution, there in Northern Tunisia is C.lawsoniae distributed only locally around lowland Oueds ( swamp rivers ) - theres Cyphosoma perhaps very common, but not everywhere. Think, only on the special places with cyclic overflows, and on the young vegetations of host plants...( before and to first flowerage.. ).

Its very interesting also, that Cyphosoma can consume also cellulose with host plant leaves without bigger problems.... Its just Cow between Jewel Beetles... :hp:

On the small place among 100m was during my 3 days of observation cca 1000 specimens, and my collegue said me, that 1 month after on the same place was this species massive visible also in the end of summer - so, I think, Cyphosoma is there very common species, and in the nature is good visible 3 months from end of June...

But, photographing of live adults in the swamp in very cold water, during wind is realy horrible - also with anti shake system...
