nell'appenino marchigiano è spesso presenjte Liophloeus (Liophloeus) ophthalmicus Stierlin 1889 molto difficile da separere dal tesselatus tramite foto |

Stando a quanto riportato nell'ultimo Catalogo Paleartico, in Italia c'è solo: Liophloeus ophthalmicus Stierlin, 1889 ....poscia, provvedo a rinominar tutte le discussioni relative e questa specie.
