Ciao Tomasz !!! I think that it belongs to the genus Hypoglyptus, Gerstacker 1855 (Erirhininae, Erirhinini). Very rare genus, with 5 species, distribution only in south Balkan peninsula, mainly in mainland Greece. Goodbye, George |

- Now, there is in the Internet, another photo of Hypoglyptus sp., for comparison, from Samos island (east Aegean). As I think, it is Hypoglyptus heydeni Faust, 1889 (= Acentroides conspersus Leonhard, 1912). It is clearly different from your specimen. You can see this photo here (page 9 of the pdf): http://www.nmbe.ch/sites/default/files/ ... nn_red.pdf - There are in the collection here, 3 specimens of Hypoglyptus, from 3 different localities of Greece (Corfou, Thesprotia and Taygetos). All are very-very similar to your specimen, but with very small tooths at the femorae. Perhaps 3 of the 5 species (H. graecus, H. pictus, H. elegans), finally belongs to the same 1 species, with intraspecific variability or they reflect only the diferences between males - females. But I am not sure... ![]() ![]() |

Thank you for all the comments and suggestions. As I see, knowledge of this genus is very small. The species from the link you sent, indeed, seems to be heydeni. I greet and wish you a sunny day! ![]() ![]() Tomasz |
