Very interesting and beautiful your specimens !!!
As I think, this insect belongs to the subgenus Viroprius: There are only 4 described species in this subgenus, but probably there are much more than 4...

Here there is another specimen from Viroprius, also from Crete, with similar problems on exact identification:

... found near the road from Anogia to Nida Plateau. I have still one specimen from there, that has the same shape of body like specimen at that picture. So I think I have a pair and that is a female on that picture, quite identical with my female, so I think they can be the same species.

Il tedesco lo "mastico poco".....ma inserisco comunque la descrizione originale di Gustav Stierlin.....semmai si trattasse proprio di questa specie.

For now, I think, we can lend the name O.hirsutus. It is known also from Imbros.
