It is a specimen of Ophonus of the subgenus Metophonus. The species can be determined only on the basis of the examination of the aedeagus and of its internal structures. This specimen is a male, so it could be possible to dissect it. With the aedeagus I could tell you something more about it. There could be not less trhan 6 species that it could be at first sight  Best regards

Hi Riccardo, this specimen is in Cosmin Manci collection (cosmln here on forum ) and unfortunately don't have the aedegus removed  Best regards, Alexandru P. |

not sure if this particular specimen arrived at me (but I think tis are from the same species)... found only two labeled 8.july.2010. So... both collected in 8.july.2010 in Moldova (46.428056 / 26.440833), leg. Alexandru Pintilioaie (alexaandru). [adding this images... maybe something new arise] cosmln |

I am sorry to disappoint you, but without the dissection of the aedeagus it is impossible to assess which of the numerous species of the subg. Metophonus these specimens can be. I have revised the group many years ago and still had not found any reliable external character. |
