could it be a Clytra laeviuscula?

Unfortunately, the photograph does not show very well the sides of the pronotum. It may be Clytra laeviuscula, but also C. quadripunctata.

What is the difference between the two species? I do have a photo that is taken from above, would that help?

Hi Jennifer, even in this new photo is hard to see how are the sides of the pronotum. If the lateral margin of the pronotum is flattened, rather broad and distinctly punctate, it is C. quadripunctata. If the lateral margin of the pronotum is narrow, smooth, not flattened and nor punctate, it is C. laeviuscula.
