C. sericeus do have a flat cavity at the Basis of the pronotum, left and right of the middle. Yours isn't showing this cavity and yours is plump in Habit. There is a number of greenish Cryptocephalus occuring in Italy, but as far as I know None of them is as plump in Habit as C. aureolus. So far yours is C. aureolus in my mind, but I have never seen the other species' in reality. So my ID is insecure. Ciao Klaas |

In adition: 4 mm is to small for C. aureolus (just saw it now). So as I mentioned in one of the other threads it must be C. hypochaeridis or C. transiens or the third species occuring in Italy and needs to be dissected. Ciao Klaas |
