Not A. pallidipennis, this is a member of the genus Bruchidius. Acanthoscelides pallidipennis has long apical mucro on inner margin of apex of hind tibia, transverse apical antennomeres and distinct spine on inner margin of hind femora (character for the genus Acanthoscelides!). Two species of Mediterranean Bruchidus have similar dorsal colouration and vestiture as specimen on photo: B. poupillieri and B. albolineatus, first species has at base of each elytron small tubercle while the second species has no tubercles. See photo of A. pallidipennis on my web page: http://www.cassidae.uni.wroc.pl/Colpolo ... pennis.htm See also hind tibia in lateral view witk long apical mucro here: https://www.ipmimages.org/browse/detail ... um=5544646 |

Thank you very much Lech. I see a tubercle at the level of the humeral callus but I'm not sure if it is the tubercle that you are referring to. Miguel Ángel
