Altra specie africana su cui indagare. mm 11.7 ca. Segni particolari: elitre rosso mattone (ridotto a due bande, laterale e suturale) con larga fascia scura, alla luce incidente, con riflesso metallico verde scuro (o colori viceversa se preferite). Grazie per le info. :hi:

Praogena sp. Stenochiini Praogenina. Posseggo la revisione, ma senza studiar l'esemplare è impossibile determinarne la specie

In realtà va corretto in
Praeugena sp. - Tenebrionidae Tenebrioninae Praeugenini Praeugenina

La grafia corretta del genere è Praeugena Laporte, 1840; Praogena Agassiz, 1846 è una “unjustified emendation not in prevailing usage”.
Il nome della tribù è Praeugenini De Moor, 1970; Praogenini Ferreira, 1963 è “unavailable: not accompanied by a description or definition and based on unjustified emendation of type genus name”; conseguentemente anche il nome della sottotribù è Praeugenina De Moor, 1970.
Secono la attuale classificazione dei Tenebrionidae la tribù Praeugenini è inclusa nella sottofamiglia Tenebrioninae e non Stenochiinae.
