Hello,

The olive tree is sick and has released resin. When I lifted the bottom of the crust, there was milky white wetness. And maggots in this wetness. In the same place there was an insect belonging to the order Coleoptera. I wonder if the larvae belong to this species? Can a breed definition at least be made?

Larvae size approx 1.5-2mm.

Thank you.

Nitidulidae, possibly Cryptarcha.
Both larvae and adults are associated with sapping trees.
Most probably they are not the fist cause of gum emission, but only a co-occurent species

Thank you Enrico.
I understand it's not the cause of the gum.
So, do the larvae belong to Nitidulidae, possibly Cryptarcha?
