I assume it is within the Tenthredinidae family but does anybody know what exactly this beautiful creature is? Would be great to find out!

Thank you very much!!! Very interesting, a Nomada! Will try to find out the full latin name, but that will be very difficult. Anyway, 'just' Nomada sp. sounds already great, smile.

as for italian fauna, recorded Nomada species are "only" 190 ...

Ciao Maurizio! ... 'just' 190 recorded species in Italy?!?! Booooring! Cry! Outch. Hahaha. What about a Nomada panzeri? Mine looks quite similar to that, or maybe not? Hm, I think I am better off to just file it as Nomada sp. Or is there any internet reference or website for those 190 Nomada bees? But with so many different one and only one picture available I probably take it as it is! You must have a really good knowledge about all of that. Compliments!!! i don't think so, from images i've found, N. panzeri has head and thorax extensively reddish brown, while the same in your one are black, and has only lateral yellow spots on abdominal tergites, instead of a continuous yellow stripe on each tergite as in your one

also the few other species i've found look quite dissimilar

unless a specialist of Apoidea will see the topic, i fear we are not going beyond Nomada sp.

Convinced!!! we better leave it as a nomada sp.! Anyway, sometimes it's good not to be able to identify a species. That means it's not one of the more common ones! hahaha. I agree, the pattern on mine are different to panzeri. ok, let me put it in my website now. Haha. you enjoy the day, ok?
