Hi,

Sorry if this was discussed before... is hard to search... when almost is in italian (this is not a critique ;) ). :)
So... I just look on photos (great photos) here and very often the beetle are mainly glued (even big one)... is this the new recommended technique ? or just a a choice from esthetic's point of view? I prefer to pin everything even the very small one (on micro pins and ..., not succeeded with some Histeridae and something like Tragus... are too hard shelled).

Any reply are welcome or redirecting me on the right track if the discussion have been made already.

Grazie,
cosmln

Grazie... so is not a problem to pin an insect as long I don't use pins no 4 or 5 :)

attached an image with an Onthophagus on micropin and glued (I prefer to pin them)

Hehehehe...us Histerids, we're too much strong! :gh:

Dear, Cosmin, I prefer to glue to avoid the risk of ruining important character for determining and greater protection of sample. ;)

Maybe Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) suturellus Brullé, 1832?
