Here photos made by Nick Upton, that he sent on the forum Hymis.de .
On 12 VI 2012, in chalk grassland habitat on Hogweed (Wiltshire - UK)

I identified this Symphyta (Lg. ~ 15 mm), which is very rare in UK.
The author of the photos gave me the authorization to show it on our forum.

I assembled these photos by modifying them to bring to light the important characteristics.

- The pronotum is entirely black, except the yellow apical border (if not : nigra or helleri)
- The face is entirely black , except sometimes with yellow flecks (it is the case here)

(The face of linearis is usually copiously marked with yellow)

Thus xanthostoma ♀.
