Ciao, I hesitate between gracilicornis and pullata, because the form of the 3rd cubital vein. Thus have you the approximate length of the symphyta ? Saluti. D & JP Balmer

Ciao, Hélas ! - On the photograph, we sees that the head is widened behind the eyes . - the length of the insect eliminates gracilicornis . With my opinion it is pullata (this species is very rare in Europe, it can not be still discovered in Italy) It is necessary to show the photo at a laboratory of entomology . Saluti. D & JP Balmer |

D & JP Balmer I am very sorry for not having captured it! However, size could be slightly different from what I indicated, perhaps a little smaller, but surely not less than 10 mm. I'll check if I have other photos of this specimen. |

Ciao, 10 mm. they are still good for pullata ! According to Berland : gracilicornis (5-7 mm.), pullata (11-12 mm.). On a leaf of plant, gracilicornis appears small and pullata appears large. NB : the head widened behind the eyes is a sufficient criterion to identify pullata ! If you capture Argidae, you can (in francese : "à la rigueur") prick the insect wings closed , because the posterior wings is not used (?) for the determination. Saluti. D & JP Balmer |
