Ciao,
n° 4572 catturato nella foresta di Montmorency (Dipart. Val d'Oise - Francia) il 10.05.2009, alle 11h55 - lung. # 7.5 mm.
- Ho chiamato questo maschio M. ribis (NO M. albicincta) a causa delle sue piccole dimensioni e la testa fortemente punteggiato.
- Alcuni altri criteri, non potrà essere utilizzato : Benson [dubbia rilevanza] e Berland [incomplete o forse anche imprecise].
Macrophya ribis (maschio) - OK ?

Ciao,

It is not Macrophya ribis, I was mistaken !, like famous entomologists in the past, with this species.
Indeed :
- The specifications dimensional are not reliable.
- The more or less strong punctuation of the head does not enough, with it only, identify M. ribis.
---
I realized some by finding 2 Macrophya (The true M.ribis) which I had isolated on standby from identification.
I thus consulted:
- Chevin p.253/256 (reference which I had not been able yet to read)

According to Costa : M. ribis does not have the yellow pronotum (Our ♂ has the yellow pronotum …)
According to Chevin :

M. alboannulata
- ♂ & ♀ have trochanter 3 white, seldom with one weak black spot on the lower face.
- The ♂ has the labrum entirely white, seldom slightly stained of black (See photo below).
M. albicincta
- ♂ & ♀ have the trochanter 3 largely stained of black to the lower face.
- The ♂ has the labrum more or less stained of black, never entirely white.

Thus :
Macrophya (M.) alboannulata A. Costa 1859 ♂ Che vive anche in Italia.
