----------
Please excuse the bad quality of photos.
Besides, to highlight the determining characters, I have modified the lightings of insects, where from the differences of color of photos
.
---
The 2 perforations between the VeinsC and R on the Forewings of n° 3355 result from clumsiness during the preparation of the insect.
----------
* Det. of sub-Family Blennocampinae (sensu Berland) , see :
* Determination of Genus & species
    Characteristics of our captures :
Antennae with segment 3 shorter than segment 4
Flagellum with segments apically widened (see photos)
The Veins M & 1m-cu do not converge the one on the other one
      Veins A2 & A3 divergent (see photos & drawing)
Hindwings with one Cell 1M closed
Mesepisternum with a raised front rim (colored in green on photos)
Claws with a long inner Tooth (see photos)
These characteristics prove that our captures are Phymatocera aterrima

But there is good reason to differentiate these captures :
The Typus (n° 3355) of species has :
The Body elongate [ratio (length of insect/width of Thorax at level of Cenchri) = 3.77]
The apex of the Sawsheat & of its hairs are more or less at the same level (see photo)
    The var. (n° 5145) has :
The Body stout [ratio (length of insect/width of Thorax at level of Cenchri) = 3.00]
The apex of the Sawsheat's hairs exceeding amply the apex of the Sawsheat (see photo)
----
Remark on the shape of the Abdomens of the 2 captures :
For the same species, by drying, there are insects of which the abdomen collapsed (as here the var.) and others no (as here the Typus), I do not know the reason [Rigidity or/and thickness of the Integument, etc. ?
A contrario, being given the method which we use to prepare the insect, the length of the Abdomen is never modified.
----
aterrima was also captured in Italy
