This species have a typical apex of elytra - I´d never seen it....
Inner (sutural) tooth on apex of elytron is longer than the outer tooth.
Its maybe good differencial marker...
Also tibiae of male and female are without some teeth or spinets...

Maurizio, I dont know, how looks Dicerca scabida ?? - I havent it...

I noticed that strange apex. I was trying to undestand something more about it. I think I don't have Dicerca scabida in my collection (if I don't have a forgotten specimen somewhere!). However, I found a photo by Nikolas Rahmé here, and it looks different.

hmmm - U´re right.... :?

Its very big shame that collectors dont write below locality some more info about hostplant, or on which tree was collected every specimen...
( Pinus sp. ) etc...

It's also my opinion. I suppose you didn't collect this specimen by yourself. Is it true?

Hello together,

this is no Dicerca! Your species is from genus Latipalpis, subgenus Palpilatis!
It is very similar to Latipalpis johanidesi Niehuis, 2002, but this is not definitly certain. There are other very closely related species like L. stellio or L. persica which must be checked.

Maybe. However, I have no specimens of these "bronze" Latipalpis (I have L. plana and L. margotana, only).
Despite they are quite different when you say them in nature, really they are not so easy to identify by photo.
However, sensory pores are distributed over the entire surface of antennomeres in Latipalpis, while they are concentrated in a dimple in Dicerca (at least in the species that I know). You can check this character to be sure of the genus

that's why I said that it also could be L. stellio or L. persica, but it is definitly a Latipalpis, subgenus Palpilatis!
You can take a look to the lower part of the elytra, in Palpilatis they are mostly typical "dentated" and in Dicerca it is plane.
I have seen a serie of paratypes of L. johanidesi in Prague and the species in this post is really similar to that. ;)

Did you compare it to Latipalpis johanidesi?
