In medicina la presenza di un arto soprannumerario è sempre evento rarissimo, e viene definita ipermelia. Anche negli insetti le malformazioni teratologiche sono estremamente rare. Ritengo quindi interessante illustrare un esemplare di Anoxia matutinalis matutinalis catturato ieri pomeriggio in località Cesine-Vernole (Lecce).
Le porzioni mesiali del femore soprannumerario e del meso-femore sono fuse, mentre la tibia è articolata. Ad una osservazione microscopica sembra che esistesse anche il tarso, che probabilmente ha subito un'amputazione traumatica.

sbaglio o nel trocantere sembra ci sia l'articolazione per un altro segmento articolare?
